I had my first experience combining Reiki with crystal healing in a workshop that I took to further my knowledge of the properties of stones. Within the group setting we were divided off randomly into pairs. I was paired up with someone I never met before, so I was unaware of her intentions for the class. Our session began with manifesting what we wanted in our lives. I laid out specific stones that were in alignment with the chakras. I began the traditional Reiki session by starting at her head and working my way down to her feet. However, as I approached her throat something very powerful came over me. See, I have always been given images of symbols, I guess it’s just the way the universe converses with me. A very distinct yellow butterfly appeared if as though it was wrapping around her throat. I kept the image in mind to ask her what it meant after our session. I tried to move on to the next chakra, however, the butterfly kept pulling me back to her throat. I went back and focused some more on her throat chakra. The butterfly became even more colorful and strong as I gave it energy. My hands were so warm. This feeling confirmed she needed to focus her energy on this butterfly. After our session we talked a bit about what she felt and what I saw. I told her about the yellow butterfly that wanted to make itself very noticed, and she started crying. It turns out that she was starting her own Reiki practice with animals. The validating point of our session was when she told me her logo for her company was a yellow butterfly. Since this symbol had shown up on her throat chakra, it meant that she was speaking her truth. This symbol gave her the affirmation that this is what she was supposed to be doing with her life.
